Member Spotlight: Rapid Fire Plumbing

In BNI, each chapter has just one seat per profession. At BNI A1 Networkers, the plumbing seat belongs to Tom Adkins, owner of Rapid Fire Plumbing, LLC.

What Rapid Fire Plumbing does

Rapid Fire Plumbing is based in Phoenix and handles both residential and commercial plumbing. Their work covers the everyday repairs and the bigger jobs:

  • Emergency plumbing for burst pipes, sewage backups, severe drain clogs and water heater failures
  • Water heaters, including repair, replacement and tankless installation in gas and electric models
  • Drain cleaning for slow or blocked drains
  • Gas line installation and repair
  • Water main repair and whole-house re-piping
  • Fixtures like faucets and toilets
  • Water softeners to help with Arizona's hard water

Where they work

Rapid Fire Plumbing serves the greater Phoenix area, including Peoria, Glendale, Surprise, Avondale, Goodyear, Phoenix, Scottsdale and Cave Creek. For our West Valley members and their clients, that means a local plumber who already knows the neighborhoods.

Why summer matters for plumbing

Late June in the Valley is hard on a house. A few things plumbers commonly deal with this time of year:

  • Water heaters under strain. Hard water leaves mineral buildup in tanks over time, and many older heaters reach the end of their life without much warning.
  • Pipes in hot attics and garages. Lines that run through very hot spaces can be more prone to problems.
  • Outdoor plumbing. Irrigation, hose bibs and pool equipment get heavy use when it is 110° outside.
  • Monsoon season. As storms roll in, drains and yard drainage get tested.

A plumbing problem in summer is not just an inconvenience. Water damage can spread quickly, and nobody wants to go without hot water or a working bathroom for long. Having a plumber you trust before something breaks makes a big difference.

Hard water and tankless options

If you have lived in the West Valley for any length of time, you know about hard water. Scale builds up in fixtures, water heaters and appliances. Rapid Fire Plumbing works with tankless water heaters and offers descaling service for them, and they install water softeners for homeowners who want to cut down on buildup. If someone you know keeps replacing fixtures or complains about white crust on everything, that is a good conversation to start.

How you can refer Rapid Fire Plumbing

A great referral for Tom is:

  • A homeowner whose water heater is aging, leaking or making popping noises
  • Someone interested in switching to a tankless water heater
  • A homeowner fighting hard water buildup who wants to look at a softener
  • A property manager or landlord who needs a dependable plumber for rentals
  • A restaurant, office or multi-family property owner with commercial plumbing needs
  • Anyone with an older home who has had more than one leak and is wondering about re-piping

Fellow trades are great referral partners too. Real estate agents, home inspectors, handymen, remodelers and restoration companies often run into plumbing issues that need a professional plumber.
