Labor Day and a Strong Finish to the Year
This month we spotlight Sabrina's Sparkling Clean, share Labor Day and fourth-quarter tips for West Valley homes and businesses, and look at what BNI Arizona offers members.
September in the West Valley is a bit of a tease. The calendar says fall, but the thermometer usually disagrees for a few more weeks. Still, there is a change in the air. Labor Day marks the unofficial end of summer, monsoon season winds down by the end of the month, and many businesses start their push toward the end of the year.
Four months are left in 2026. That is plenty of time to make a real difference in your results, especially if you use your BNI chapter well. Now is the time to look at your referral goals, sharpen your weekly presentation and make sure the room knows exactly how to help you.

Sabrina’s Sparkling Clean

This month we are shining the spotlight on Sabrina Roberts of Sabrina's Sparkling Clean LLC, who holds the residential cleaning seat in our chapter.
Sabrina's business is residential cleaning: helping homeowners keep their homes clean and comfortable so they can spend their time on work, family and the things they enjoy.
September is a great month for a fresh start at home. Summer brings dust from monsoon storms, sand tracked in from the pool and a house full of kids who have been home all summer. And the holiday season, with guests and gatherings, is not far away. Great referrals for Sabrina include:
- Busy families who are back to school and short on time
- Homeowners who want a deep clean after a dusty monsoon season
- People who are getting ready to host family or friends this fall
- Seniors or anyone who could use a hand keeping up with housework
- Real estate agents and property managers who work with homeowners
If you know someone who would love to come home to a clean house, connect them with Sabrina.
Seasonal tips for the West Valley
At home
- Plan a safe Labor Day. Labor Day is Monday, September 7. If you are heading to the lake or the high country, check the forecast, bring extra water and leave early to beat the traffic.
- Clean up after monsoon. Wipe down window sills and ceiling fans, swap out your AC filter and give your patio a good rinse to clear away the dust.
- Keep running the AC smart. It is still hot. Set your thermostat a little higher when no one is home and use fans to stay comfortable.
- Start fall yard planning. If you overseed your lawn with winter grass, late September into October is when many West Valley homeowners start preparing.
- Get ahead of the holidays. Make a short list of home projects you want done before guests arrive, and book help now while schedules are open.
For your business
- Plan your fourth quarter. Write down your goals for October through December, including revenue targets, marketing and any year-end deadlines.
- Look at your budget for next year. September is a good time to start thinking about 2027 costs, pricing and hiring.
- Review your marketing calendar. Plan your holiday messages and promotions now so you are not rushing in November.
- Check in with your key clients. A quick call to ask how things are going can lead to repeat business and referrals before the busy season.
Networking tip of the month: tune up your weekly presentation
If your weekly presentation has sounded the same for months, the room may have stopped hearing it. Pick one specific thing to ask for each week. Name the type of client, the problem you solve and, if you can, a specific person or company you would like to meet. A clear, specific ask gives members something they can act on. Then switch it up the next week so people start to see the full range of what you do.
BNI news: give before you get
The idea behind Givers Gain® is simple: when you focus on helping other people grow their businesses, your own business grows too. BNI has built its whole approach around that. It is easy to think about BNI as a place to get referrals, but members who get the most out of it are usually the ones who come in each week asking how they can help someone else. If you want to see more referrals this fall, start by looking for ways to give them.
Happening at BNI Arizona

In our chapter
- Set a fall referral goal. Decide how many referrals you want to give between now and the end of the year, and tell someone in the chapter.
- Book a one-to-one. Meet with at least one member this month to learn what a great referral looks like for them.
- Invite a visitor. Fall is a great time for business owners to try something new. Bring someone you trust.
- Thank our leadership team. Our officers volunteer their time to keep the chapter running. A quick thank-you means a lot.
Bring a guest
Visitors are always welcome. If you know someone who wants to finish the year strong, bring them along. We meet every Thursday at 7:00 AM at Brothers Family Restaurant, 8466 W. Peoria Avenue in Peoria. Plan a visit.
Have a safe and happy Labor Day from all of us at BNI A1 Networkers!
